This module focuses on educating participants about the origin and development of democratic representation. It also helps students examine how political systems differ in their ability to aggregate individual preferences and map them onto policies. Via studying individual institutions that form the entire democratic system, students learn how the presence or absence of specific institutions affects the behavior of governments,

legislators, political parties, and social groups and how this affects policy outcomes. Additionally, students are introduced to topics that govern the conditions conducive to the introduction or emergence of specific institutions.

Conflict Studies, Peace-building, and Peacekeeping

This module focuses on teaching students about the nature of political violence across different societal contexts. Understanding how civil conflict politics are complex and continuously evolving.Via an advanced structure, students learn and practice how empirical analyses of violent events allow for a better understanding of political violence's origin and perpetration. The module covers topics, case studies, and research with a strong focus on the quantification and conceptualization of violence and peacekeeping interventions.

Students also learn more about state repression dynamics, violence in and after civil conflict, peace building and peacekeeping, and human rights performance across the world.

Topics covered trying to offer answers for questions include:

• How does international politics influence solutions to armed conflict?

• How can interventional international intervention help reduce political violence?

• Can international peacekeepers improve human rights?

The module of Democracy and Public Governance is the final advanced module in the Master ofPolitical Science Program in the School of Government at Cambridge Corporate University. The module investigates the characteristics, functioning, and performance of democratic institutions from a comparative perspective. It covers topics and research on the measurement of the quality of democracy, new challenges to democracy in multicultural societies, issues of democracy in multi-level governance, and innovative forms of citizen participation in established
